Vehicle description

A truly magnificent example of this 90'€™s behemoth. The Mercedes w140 is alleged to have cost one billion dollars to develop into the over engineered machine that dominated the executive class of the nineties, and it'€™s easy to see why! The build quality and sheer road presence of this car is able to rival even the most expensive vehicles available today, a last hurrah to engineering opulence just not found in modern Mercedes vehicles. However, spending a billion dollars to develop a car doesn'€™t come without woes, the costs took their toll on Mercedes and the the result was a gradual erosion of quality as the years passed. This meant the finest built examples were from the first three years of production (1991- 1993). In later years many items became cheaper or lighter or plastic. Even the fuse information card from a facelift w140 was printed on lesser quality paper! This car is one of the very first. Built and registered during 1991 when no expense was spared and the cost of a fuse card was insignificant. Finished in Almandine Red over Navarra Red with contrasting Cream Leather Upholstery, this w140 looks stunning. It is a long wheel base model but I'€™m not sure many have enjoyed the extra leg room as the rear seats look like they'€™ve barely been used. The whole interior is in excellent order with the cream carpets always covered by over mats. All usual Mercedes refinements are present including double glazing, soft close doors and boot lid, memory drivers seat, heated seats, cruise control, dual zone climate and ABS. There is a full compliment of books including a fully stamped service book. An original Mercedes key box is also present containing two working remote keys, a spare blade and a valet key. The overall condition is excellent, the paintwork is bright, the interior extremely clean and the underside in almost corrosion free condition. The spare wheel even still sports it'€™s factory inked date stamp showing August 1991 with an unused tyre. Over the last six months this car has had new discs and Brembo pads all round, four brand new Firestone tyres and as preventative maintenance, an updated engine wiring loom at huge expense. The car is currently MOT'€™d with no advisories. 12 Months AA Roadside Included FREE, Warranty Included, Part Exchange Welcome.
